Forum for completely Out of Character (OOC) discussion, based around whatever is happening In Character (IC). But now, a while has passed and it has a few people who already are hoping for it to be made again. So, after debating, I've decided to open it back up and see how it goes.
Summary/History
Long, long ago when Wonderland was still very young, a king stepped up to rule over the land in the great White Castle. He was a young king, wise and generous, and he guided all the creatures and subjects in Wonderland's territory to a life of peace and happiness. For centuries, the king led Wonderland into such a loving rein as Wonderland thrived. But darkness did cloud over the blue skies when the king reached an older age and became weaker and weaker as the decades past.
Out of Wonderland's Darkest swamps and forests, came a group of sinister Magicians. They were called the Dealers, four strong and powerful beings who had many followers to support their ill deeds. The group was led by an intelligent and charming trickster, who goes by the name of De'laire Slayer. Red crimson eyes and rose red hair, he stormed upon the White Castle and destroyed the king's power. He locked the old ruler inside the caves of Wonderland, never to be seen or heard from again, even though legends say the old delicate man is still hiding there with all of Wonderland's secrets locked away, never to be found.
De'laire and his followers then proceeded to break up Wonderland among the four of them, and divided it among four kingdoms known as The Deck. The leading kingdom, Hearts, was allianced with Clubs, Spades, and Diamonds. Each Dealer took a throne on each kingdom, De'laire ruling over the Heart's kingdom with a tight fist and threw Wonderland into chaos again as the Creatures were forced into hiding, used as servants and hunted down for rebelling De'laire and his groups's tight rule. Some managed to hide and evade De'laire's minions and loyal subjects for many years without being caught, but most others were not so lucky.
As De'laire ruled for a few more decades, he had a new servant under his wing. Iracebeth, the future red queen of Wonderland. She became close to him, and convinced De'laire that his precious new queen was cheating on him. De'laire became weak, killing his queen and Iracebeth managed to push him out of power as he let his anger blind his ability to see what his servant was doing to him, and Iracebeth managed todestroy the other kingdom's rulers. The dealers shrunk back into Wonderland's Dark Marhses and trees, leaving Iracebeth to force the three other kingdoms into another part of Wonderland so she could rule without competition. The kingdoms were never heard from as long as Iracebeth was in power, and her tight fist over Wonderland was only slightly better then De'laire's rule.
But, her rein was not served long. After she was queen for a while, she was overthrown by Alice and the other wonderland creatures and banished into the dark lands, never to be seen or heard from again. Time passed as the White queen struggled to have Wonderland in peace again when Alice left. But she was interrupted by something Wonderland had not seen in many decades.
The other three kingdoms had managed to push themselves back into the main sections of Wonderland, each royal family that had been forced into hiding once again taking their rightful places as rulers of these kingdoms. Hearts was overtaken by Iracebeth's secret daughter, Ruby. Spades and Diamonds were then ruled by two young princes, and the last Kingdom of Clubs had a fearful princess to rule it. With these four young rulers spread out over Wonderland, the competition between them started to rise as they struggled to decide who would be the leader of the Deck. War started to break out among them as Creatures were being forced to pick sides, others forming rebellion groups that stayed hidden in the thick forests and other brush among wonderland's Wilderness.
Now, Wonderland faces the frightening deck, it's new young royals, and the malicious dealers once again. Will the Creatures of Wonderland fight to take it back, or will the Dealers take over just when the young leaders were starting to rule?
This is the other story to the tale of Wonderland.
So basically, the story is about Wonderland having four kingdoms arise with young, inexperienced rulers. They are trying to decide who will be the final ruler of Wonderland, but each prince and princess wants the power to themselves. Well, the dealers are trying to gain the deck back and during the story, start playing tricks and preforming murders to confuse and stumble these young princes and princesses. So, really its more free range then the history itself and it involves room for ideas and twists/turns.

Here are a list of roles that are open and taken. If the role is open, that means it is also open to it's own name. You can make up names for the characters; the royals, dealers, and the creatures of Wonderland.
Also, each royal will need at least one creature/resident on their side, as an adviser or as a companion, ect. Each one of these creatures has a specific role I will put beside them. If they have a heart, spade, diamond, or club sign beside them, it means they are loyal to that side. So, for example, the White Rabbit is loyal to hearts and the Cheshire Cat is loyal to diamonds. Ect. If you really don't want that character to be loyal to that side, we can discuss an alternative but I've thought it out for months now and I like how it's set up.

Ah, I know you, or should I say, I remember you, I think. Bones and Wonderland were your name, if I am quite correct. I've participated in...three of your games if I recall. (ah, do forgive me if I'm wrong, but this is quite familiar.)
I do think I'm interested, so I might lurk for a while and see if there are any spots still open when I'm in a better state of consciousness.
I'm tempted to reserve the Prince of Diamonds, but I do think I'd like to observe the style of the game before I do anything else.

Thank you, I do have two questions though. I know, in the movies, the Mad Hatter is male, but do you mind if I make him a female ? I prefer to play female characters.
My second question is, do you prefer anime pictures or real?
And another note: I'm a hug perfectionist, so it may take my a little while to get my character in. However, today, I have a lot of free time, so I might be able to get her in today

Ah, yes, perhaps I shall allow myself to wait until this time tomorrow and see if I'm still interested in the remaining characters. And the people playing. I'm trying to get my WPP to go up to 500 (I'll have to average at 800 for over one hundred posts to get it up to an adequate number), and it's a trying business, yes it is.
I'm quite sure, if I remember correctly, that you ran primarily in more advanced roleplays? How many WPP do you expect from your players?

@Desire: I've always preferred the Mad Hatter to be a male, but... if you can show me a good profile, I'll make an exception. I'd also be open to two hatter roles, perhaps brother and sister but for now, I'll let you submit a female hatter and see how well I like it. If you are a perfectionist and have a good idea in mind, I'm sure I'll be more then willing to accept.
I prefer real pictures, but if someone has a harsh time finding one, I am open to good drawings or anime pictures. I find a difference between drawings and anime, they have different styles to me.

@Pieluver: Then do so if it interests you. Some of the people in the roleplay aren't from this site, but are highly advanced roleplayers who all have committed to doing a well job on this roleplay. And my, my. Impressive.
I do. I prefer good entrances, and descriptive posts. Nothing below 10 lines if I can help it, but as you know, sometimes posts can be hard to fill up with words if something minuscule is happening inside the roleplay. As for WPP... to be honest, I haven't even thought about it. But, my main goal is to have people post descriptive paragraphs above 10 lines.
I will have to think about that more, though.

Auch, forgive me if I'm being irritating (After learning first hand what it takes to play a game from start to painful finish I've learned to be annoyingly conscientious about such things), but line wise, what kind of screen are we talking about? I alternate between an extremely wide screen and a netbook screen, so ten lines is two different things to my poor brain. At the moment it's a mere 200 words on my minute screen, but requires...mmm... say four hundred words on the wider screen. Should I assume a mean of the two as the shortest allotment of words?
Hmm...I do think I'll halt harassing you for the moment and return tomorrow or later tonight, once I actually wake up ^^ I do thank you for the information, and perhaps I'll have an inkling of an idea for some creature at that point. (although, I am tempted to pull from little old Bailey and try for the Black Bunny. Quite an alliteration.)

@Pieluver: You are not being irritating. No one... has ever asked me these questions before, I'm kind of at a loss to respond. Um... well, on my screen it's... just a regular laptop screen, I suppose. Normal sized? I don't exactly know. The only way I could show you would to take a snapshot, but to be honest, I'm not really that concerned about how long it looks. I'm concerned at the description and the effort put into it, regarding the action or event taking place the character's role inside of it, if that makes sense.
Rest well. I'll be here tomorrow, since I don't...really have a life? Bahaha. But yes, if you do see any open you like, feel free to let me know. I'm going to try my hardest to keep this one going since it's been such a passion of mine to make this roleplay survive. I'm being so picky at who joins.

Okie-doke that sounds good with me ^^ (Don't worry, I have no life either. I returned XD) Quality over quantity :3 props for that one. Hmm, I think I could manage that. The only thing left that I wonder about is the post everyday thing. I'm a slow roleplayer, I have to say. I like to post meh... once every three days or so. Sadly, life (read:school) has me incapacitated for most of my time, but it gives me plenty of chances to formulate what exactly I want to write. So I don't post often, and I only try to post when there is something truly meaningful to post about, but I try to make all my posts deep and full of character, plot, and world building. So (I promise, last question) what kind of posting schedule are you thinking about enforcing? Or do you plan to determine that in more depth after you see exactly what kind of crowd you've got?
And I understand being picky. Hell, that's the only way to keep a good roleplaying group these days, don't I know. If you aren't picky, then everything falls to ruin oftentimes.
And if I don't manage to return in time to collect a spot, I do wish you good luck with your game. If I recall, I rather liked your style ^^

Can I try and audition for the Prince of Diamonds? If you want I can just write something up right now or show you a recent post I've done.
The bare minimum of words I put out is 300, but that's only for roleplays that aren't advanced, so to say. Going from what you've said, it sounds like you've got some higher standards for this. So I'll say my posts for such a thing will range from 500-1,000+ words, depending on what I get from people.
Also...I have a lot of time on my hands, I'm kind of a loser, but I wont' be able to post EVERY day. I'm going to a convention at the beginning of November so I won't be able to make any posts then. Other than events like that, even when I go out with friends and stuff it doesn't take away my whole day, but yeah...I won't be able to be connected 24/7 all the time. Most of the time I'm free though, eh.
Also, if that's okay, can I get a basic description of the other royal characters? There's no reason for my to make a megolomanic if there already is one, or a 'kind and caring' type if that type is already taken.

Well, I would like to go around once I have everyone and make sure that they won't wait a long time to respond because, we do have a mixture of fast roleplayers and slow ones everywhere in the world. Now, most of my friends have the chance to post a few times a day, especially a few that are on... extremely often. It makes it frustrating when you have people waiting for posts, which if I were to let someone slower join but has amazing writing quality... I may have to let them have a smaller character, or get permission to... override posts. But, I do want to see how often everyone can post and work something out, hopefully get an idea of a... firm but loose posting order, if that makes sense at all.
If you wanted to join but thought you could only post... rarely every couple of days, I'd encourage you to make a character of your own to join in the roleplay that you can manage on your own time, or take on the role of the black rabbit. Royals have to be able to post everyday. ... Reminds me, I need to talk to the person playing Claudia Club about that.
Example; the person playing the hatter right now, I need to make sure she can post often as well. The hatter is a major character to the story; he/she leads the rebellion to save wonderland.

I understand people have lives and things to do, which we can work out things when people can't post. How long is the convention?
I'm also not asking people to be on here all the time, I just ask they make some time to at least post once or twice a day when they have time.
Royals are big characters in the story, and have to keep up, which is why I was told the idea of having a back up character for the royals
in case a royal is going to be gone. (If a royal is gone, or another really big character part that's posting a lot and is in the middle of an event, it stops the roleplay dead.) But, I'm still trying to work that out.
Example; in a few of my roleplays, my internet has completely dropped. (Due to stupid internet company, which has been switched, so yay.) I was gone for a while, and I should of asked someone to be my back up or to override my posts unless I was able to contact everyone. Which, now, I will.
Alright let us see here... Claudia is more of a horrific royal, she is twisted and more serious. Marcus is very elegant, more cold and serious but has a charming streak. Ruby is bubbly and more child like, but also has a bad temper.
You can have a few similar qualities as the other characters, I just ask not taking someone's personality and copying it dead on.
The last person to make up the Prince of Dimaonds named him Lucas. He actually was bisexual, and was known for breaking hearts. That's not a requirement at all, but if you come up with something different, I will be impressed. xD Because right now, the POD is a transvestite and a party animal in my head.

I should be able to post everyday or every other day, due to the fact that I have no life. However, school work takes up a lot of my time on weekdays, so I'm typically not on until late, and if I get on too late, I may not be able to post. That's why I say roughly every-other-day. My weekends are kind of hectic. Usually I can get in at least one post on a weekend, but sometimes I have a lot to do and sometimes I have nothing at all. However, if I do have something to do, I'll always let you know ahead of time. (:

I think we'll be gone by the 2nd, and are returning by the 4th. That or we'll just be there for the weekend, the 3rd and 4th. In any case I'd be back online by Sunday evening, unless my friends have anything else planned. But they haven't told me anything so it doubt it. Though like I said, I hardly ever have anything else going on so this whole thing is kind of an unique occurrence.
I wouldn't mind someone taking over my character while I was gone, as long as they kept them in character. The use of texting one another could help as well, if that was the case.
Anyways, you can consider letting me taking the spot, but if you really would rather not have me take such a major role than I understand. There are some other roles I wouldn't mind considering.

Hah, all of my characters are either bi/pansexual or asexual anyways so, yeah. That could be an interesting quality.
I'd actually would quite like making a crossdresser, that certainly would be a fun character to play, along with the whole 'party animal' thing. Maybe someone who's very outgoing, perhaps delirious even.

Hum....I could sacrifice a bit if coherency and post everyday, If I so desired. I only receive about a two hour window of useable time a day, thanks to my desire to actually obtain six hours of sleep. I dunno. I feel like I've got a foot on either side of the fence at this point. I guess I'll just wait and see. If there's still a spot for me then I suppose it was meant to be ^^ (duuude, dat rhyme.)

@Cor: I have replied to your message, I've made it clear that I would actually be very open to you taking the role of the Prince. ^^ So, I shall reserve it for you since your post was wonderful. The convention doesn't sound too bad; I know a few people who can take up posting within character guidelines if needed.
I would love to see what you could do with him if you do make him a cross dresser. To have someone like that in the roleplay would be wonderful. So, we will see what you can come up with.
@Pieluver: Oh stop, you know I want you in this roleplay. But, I am going to patient and let you wait, I think you could contribute. Like I said, I'm very dedicated to this roleplay.
Oh my... well... The Collector. Wasn't that my roleplay of the serial killer who collected victims with talent? Gosh, I have no thought about that in so long... perhaps I should make that one, it you think it would be worth it. I'd need to think it over again, perhaps make a few tweaks...
